Here is Rowley Bristow Orthopedic Hospital at Pyrford. This card is from July 1954, which was the same time my Mum was a patient there.

No fun to be a patient in any hospital. Interesting you have a card from the time your Mum was there. Happy PFF.
ReplyDeleteWow! How interesting this was taken around the time your Mum stayed there. I have a "Mum" too. She's pretty wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHappy PFF!
Is it a coincident? Or did your mother send this card to your family? And my mum is also still alive, and at the moment on vacation in the south of Spain with my dad. Happy PFF.
ReplyDeleteBob, this is a coincidence of sorts, I spotted the postcard in an antique store in Jersey back last summer. It was sent by presumably by a nurse, who wrote on the back that she had arrived back to work safely. The minute I spotted the date, I knew it would illustrate that period of my Mum's life perfectly. She spent some months at the hospital, aged 5 with Polio.
